How this tool works
This tool helps you compare FX hedging products based on your organisation's specific circumstances and preferences. It does not provide financial advice or product recommendations.
Step 1: Suitability assessment
Your financial information is used to determine product suitability in line with MiFID II classification criteria. Organisations meeting at least two of the following thresholds are classified as professional clients: (i) annual turnover exceeding €40 million, (ii) balance sheet total exceeding €20 million, (iii) equity or cash reserves exceeding €2 million. Retail-classified organisations will see a reduced product set excluding the most complex structured products.
Step 2: Filtering
Your answers to filter questions remove or penalise products that conflict with your hard constraints. Products are not removed from the comparison entirely unless they are fundamentally incompatible with your requirements — in most cases, a scoring penalty is applied so you can still see how a product compares.
Step 3: Preference weighting
Your answers to trade-off questions are translated into weights across 13 scoring factors. Each FX product has been independently scored from 1 (least favourable) to 5 (most favourable) on each factor. Your weighted score (fit score) is calculated as:
Fit Score = Σ(Product Score × Factor Weight) / Maximum Possible Score
expressed as a percentage.
Scoring factors
| Factor | Description |
|---|
All product scores were calibrated by qualified treasury and risk management professionals. Scores represent general characteristics of standard product structures and may vary depending on specific terms, currency pairs, tenors, and market conditions.
Important notice
This tool is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute financial advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to enter into any financial product or transaction.
Structured and complex FX products carry risks including but not limited to: unlimited loss potential, margin calls, barrier events that may materially alter the payoff, leverage that amplifies losses, and reduced liquidity. These products should not be entered into without:
- A thorough discussion with your hedge provider
- Internal approval from relevant stakeholders (board, treasury committee, risk function)
- A clear understanding of the product mechanics, worst-case outcomes, and ongoing obligations
- Appropriate documentation in place with your counterparty
Product scores and rankings reflect general characteristics and may not apply to your specific circumstances. Actual product terms, pricing, and availability will vary by provider, currency pair, tenor, and market conditions.

How this tool works
This tool helps you compare FX hedging strategies based on your organisation’s risk profile, operational constraints, and priorities. It does not constitute financial advice or a recommendation to adopt any particular strategy.
Layer 1: Risk Profile
Your answers to the risk appetite survey (Steps 1–4) produce five risk dimensions: Financial Impact Tolerance, Certainty Preference, Complexity Capacity, Cost Sensitivity, and Strategic Flexibility. These dimensions are translated into weights across 12 strategy scoring factors.
Layer 2: Hard Filters
Your answers to constraint questions eliminate or penalise strategies that conflict with your hard requirements. Strategies are not removed from the comparison unless they are fundamentally incompatible — in most cases, a scoring penalty is applied.
Layer 3: Weighted Scoring
Each strategy has been independently scored from 1 (least favourable) to 5 (most favourable) across 12 factors. Your personalised factor weights are applied to compute a fit score:
Fit Score = Σ(Strategy Score × Factor Weight) / Maximum Possible Score
expressed as a percentage.
